Pisan peak climbing

15 Days 14 Nights

Pisang Peak Climbing (6,091m) is one of the most rewarding climbing adventures in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering a perfect mix of trekking and mountaineering. The peak stands proudly above Pisang Village and yak pastures, rising in a graceful uniform slope of snow and ice that leads to its stunning summit pyramid.

The western flank of Pisang Peak is protected by a hanging glacier, adding a real sense of adventure and challenge to the climb. At the western end, the ridge is guarded by massive rock slabs that require careful climbing techniques, making the ascent both exciting and demanding. The first successful ascent of Pisang Peak was made by a German Expedition in 1955, marking it as one of Nepal’s classic trekking peaks.

To reach the Base Camp (4,380m), climbers follow the scenic Annapurna Circuit trail up to Upper Pisang Village. From there, the route ascends gradually through sparse forests and open pastures to a beautiful grassy flatland, considered the best location for setting up the base camp.

The High Camp (5,400m) is established further up the slope, climbing toward a shoulder on the South-West Ridge. From late November to March, the high camp area is usually covered in snow. The final summit route follows a well-defined ridge leading to a steep but straightforward snow slope that rewards climbers with breathtaking 360° views of the Annapurna and Manang Valley.

The descent follows the same route back to base camp and then rejoins the main Annapurna trail. Pisang Peak is an ideal choice for climbers looking for a moderately challenging yet highly scenic expedition that combines Himalayan adventure with the cultural richness of Nepal.
