Overview

The Langtang Nayakhang Trek is a premium trekking peak adventure in Nepal’s Langtang National Park, approximately 120 km north of Kathmandu. The journey begins with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi (1,503 m) before following the Langtang River through dense forests inhabited by red pandas, Himalayan black bears, and diverse birdlife.

Trekkers pass through traditional Tamang settlements including Lama Hotel, Langtang Village, and Kyanjin Gompa, where ancient Buddhist monasteries, yak cheese factories, and spectacular mountain scenery create a unique Himalayan atmosphere.

Several acclimatization days are spent around Kyanjin Gompa with optional hikes to Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) or Tserko Ri (4,984 m) before moving to Nayakhang Base Camp. The summit climb generally starts before dawn, involving glacier travel and sections where crampons, ice axes, ropes, and climbing equipment may be required depending on conditions.
