Overview
The Mera Peak Climbing itinerary usually begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840 m), followed by trekking through the peaceful Hinku Valley. Unlike the busy Everest Base Camp route, this trail offers a more remote and authentic Himalayan experience.
The journey passes through villages such as Paiya, Pangkongma, Khare, and Mera Base Camp, allowing trekkers to experience Sherpa culture and the natural beauty of the Everest region. After proper acclimatization and climbing preparation at Khare, the expedition continues toward Mera High Camp (5,800 m) before attempting the summit.
The summit day starts early, usually before sunrise, with a glacier climb toward the top of Mera Peak. From the summit, climbers are rewarded with one of the most spectacular Himalayan views in Nepal, including five peaks above 8,000 meters.
