Nepal Visa Information

Travelers visiting Nepal for trekking, touring, or climbing with Solo Alpine Treks can easily obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, or at several authorised land border entry points. Below is a detailed guide to help you complete the visa process smoothly.

Visa on Arrival

The Visa on Arrival is the most common and convenient option for most travelers visiting Nepal.

Procedures

  • Online Application (Recommended):
Fill out the “Tourist Visa On Arrival” form online within 15 days before your arrival on the official Department of Immigration, Nepal website.
Completing the form online helps you save time at the airport. Alternatively, you can use the kiosk machines at Tribhuvan International Airport to fill out the form upon arrival.

Required Documents

  1. A valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity and at least one blank page.

  2. A recent passport-size photograph.

  3. Visa fee in cash — preferably in USD (other major currencies are sometimes accepted). Credit/debit cards may not always work, so carrying cash is recommended.

Process at the Airport

  1. Fill out the online form (if not done already).

  2. Proceed to the visa fee counter and pay the appropriate fee.

  3. Present your payment receipt and completed form at the immigration desk.

  4. The immigration officer will issue your visa and affix it to your passport.
